Soundwave is one cool recon decepticon!Soundwave is wicked in the transformers prime series and this prime series version is just as awesome all around. The Transformer Prime Soundwave is a vast improvement over the earlier animated version. The Recon Drone mode is is a little unusual looking if you haven’t seen this kind of aircraft before. The Recon Drone mode is as realistic as can be to the prime series and in real life. The armed forces use these everyday in real life for recon so they don’t have to endanger a human life. They are called (UAV)’s for short. The Recon Drone is constructed very well with all parts being secure. In robot mode Soundwave is just as great with the most realistic detail and articulation of any in the transformer prime series.Soundwave comes with his trusted companion Laserbeak which attaches securely in Recon Drone mode between the wings on the body.In robot mode Laserbeak attaches to the arm or fits securely onto the middle of Soundwave’s chest.Laserbeak also has awesome realistic series detail with excellent construction overall. The poseability is outstanding with great stability for creating cool battle scenes or displaying this gem where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid build in recon drone or robot mode. The transformation level is intermediate meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you might have to help some in the process.Soundwave does have a very versatile transformation most ages can handle after a few times. To start off the wings rotate back to make a v-shape.The hand and arm pieces then rotate out then down to the side. The front of the recon drone then seperates. The nose pieces rotate backwards to rest on the back of the leg as the peg rotates back. The feet then rotate down. The piece on the upper back will rotate down as the head piece will then be revealed. The back piece rotates back up and Laserbeak is attached to the chest or on the arm.Soundwave is ready for action! This is an amazing all around version of Soundwave that is a great addition for all ages of transformer fans.Bottom line Transformers Prime Soundwave is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer all fans will enjoy.I highly recommend Soundwave to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Soundwave Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

Soundwave…Megatron’s right hand con. The latest incarnation of Soundwave is based on a modified MQ-9 Reaper Drone. A perfect vehicle mode for the modern day Soundwave. Vehicle mode looks awesome. It’s about as screen accurate as you’re going to get. Vehicle mode is sturdy and tight. The only thing about the vehicle mode that is a little off is that Soundwave sports only one piece of landing gear located at the front of the vehicle (Between what becomes his feet to be more precise). What should be the rear landing gear is the clavicle area on his torso. Other than that 4.9 out of 5.

As for Lazerbeak. Unlike his previous incarnations, he does not have two modes. Lazerbeak is simply Soundwave’s chest piece that can detach and well…form Lazerbeak. Not very screen accurate however. BUT I’m happy with the fact Hasbro included (to the best of their ability) him.

Now for Soundwave’s robot mode. Fun,very easy transformation. Awesome, screen accurate to the T robot mode. I’m very impressed with it. At first glance you might think he is one B*@#$ of a bot to transform but this is not the case at all. Very sturdy figure for the most part but the arms. They’re thin and seem kinda flimsy. Overall, Soundwave and Lazerbeak is definitely one to have in your collection.

I absolutely love this toy. My favorite feature would be laserbeak – the minicon fits in his chest just like in the show, and that little detail always really amused me.
He’s extremely hard to pose, though. His legs have little to no poseability, and his arms just look kinda silly no matter what you do.
His vehicle mode looks amazing, however.
(speaking as a collector, I did not buy this for a child)
