Soundwave has spent centuries making himself indispensable to the Decepticon cause. His body is packed with electronic communications gear. He is capable of teasing even the faintest transmission out of the microwave background, cracking the toughest quantum code, and jamming the most powerful signal. Together with his minions, he is one of the most effective weapons in the Decepticon arsenal. This dynamic duo of Transformers figures will be your fiercest Decepticon villains yet. Your Soundwave figure converts from dangerous robot mode to communications truck mode so he can launch his sonic attacks. At his side is the spooky Laserbeak figure, who ejects from data disc mode at the touch of a button to auto-convert to robot mode. Together they’ll make double trouble for the Autobots, and the outcome of the battle is all up to you.

Generations Soundwave is wicked cool!Soundwave returns in the Generations line with the same body mold as the earlier deluxe size, but this time in a more detailed and articulated voyager size.Soundwave still has the classic G1 influence like the shoulder cannon, and head piece. The other sweet thing is how Hasbro kept the music player influence G1 style, but updated it with a cd disc player chest piece for a more modern day touch.Soundwave also comes with his trusted companion Laserbeak which transforms into a disc very easily and stays together very well while in disc mode.Laserbeak stores easily in Soundwave’s chest and transforms from disc to robot with a push of a button.Laserbeak is built very solid overall with high quality and durability. To work the disc feature is very easy, you just pull the very back piece out, pull down the chest piece, then store the disc with ease.To eject the disc you just push the back piece in while folding down the chest piece. The poseability is awesome with great stability for creating cool battle scenes or displaying where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid build in either robot or communications truck modes. The transformation level is intermediate meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 you might have to help them some in the transformation process. All parts also fit securely together during the transformation process for a well constructed transformer overall. To start off rotate the hands in as the back piece pulls back.Next the arms swing back while being straight out.The chest piece then rotates up as the shoulder armor rotates out.The arms rotate up from the sides as the shoulder armor connects together over the head piece. The wheels now rotate forward as the forearms rotate down.On the back piece at the very bottom it will slide back then rotate down.Next the back piece will rotate up to make the roof of the vehicle mode. The wheels on the leg will rotate up while the entire bottom section will rotate up to be straight out behind the front of the truck. Now the legs will fold up while the feet rotate in.The roof section then slides back and connects. The shoulder cannon attaches on the top and Soundwave is ready to roll. The disc can also be ejected in vehicle mode as well by folding down the chest piece on the front. This is one Soundwave that is one of the coolest with a combination of the G1 influence mixed with the badass edge of a modern day warrior.Bottom line Generations Soundwave is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer all fans and collectors will enjoy.I highly recommend Generations Soundwave to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Soundwave Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

After seven 10 hour work days it’s time to rest and do some reviews. This is one figure I was reluctant to buy. Then I started seeing the Data Disc sets in my local Walmarts, Kmarts, and Targets. Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, and Ratbat? I had to look into it and find out why exactly all his minions were release. What makes this Soundwave so special? read on and find out…and find out why I feel so stupid for ever doubting this figure.

Vehicle Mode: Soundwave transforms into a Cybertronian Armored Communications Truck. His vehicle mode is the same representation as in War for Cybertron. I’m a big fan of this mode. I started warming up to the idea of Soundwave as a car with DOTM. It looks great, paint looks great. He holds together really well. Rolls great too. One cool thing about this mode is you can release his minions in this mode too. The coolest thing to me, is his wheels. They have that glowing energon effect like in the games as they are molded in translucent purple plastic.

Unofficial Boombox Mode: YES IT CAN BE DONE!!!! if you own the deluxe version…pretty much the same transformation. If you are not familiar with this you can look it up on youtube for a how to tutorial specifically on this mode.

Transformation is SUPER similar to the deluxe version except for the new minion launching gimmick. It does add a few more steps but Soundwave is relatively easy to transform. I think it’s safe to say any child over five should do just fine with this figure. Soundwave is still SUPERFUN to transform. Although he is a bigger version of the Deluxe size.

Robot Mode. This is where the fun begins. This is why Im such an idiot for ever doubting this figure. This is why YOU NEED TO BUY THIS FIGURE NOW. Im not going to make you wait to find out why. But I am going to lure you in little by little. 1. Soundwave features a eject pressing finger. His left hand is molded slightly different with the index finger sticking out a little. Yup Eject button pusher. 2.THREE minions can be stored at one time. the downfall to this is that the launching mechanism does stick out more. But seriously…we’ve never been able to do that before. Not even with G1 Soundwave, Three Minions…at one time. Heck yeah. And now for the best part. The minions can launch out. BUT did you know they transform in midair? This is the most perfect and yet mind boggling feature I have ever seen. Laserbeak and Ratbat do this the best. Frenzy and Rumble just kinda transform in midair and fall of their faces.Ravage lands in a stitting position. But yeah this figure is awesome.I love the sculpt, I love the look. Hes very poseable. Stands very well.

Over all…this is a GREAT figure. I guarentee youll never see another Soundwave like this. Buy it!

Of all the Transformers in any universe, Soundwave will always be my favorite. This figure has more of a communications/spy look to it that just suits Soundwave, Earth or Cybertronian. Overall, he stands well as a biped and can hold Laserbeak on his arm, like in G1, which I find amazing…. It would be better if Laserbeak could attach to him somehow, but it’s great nevertheless. As an alt-mode, the Cybertronian truck mode is great, and the movable front plate can prepare him for battle or just ramming through obstacles. Great figure overall, and 100% recommend him to any and every collector out there.

Buy him. And don’t forget the other data discs.
