First let me reiterate what the “Kids review” says, yes this is a reissue of a previoulsy limited edition deco of a mold that has been released numerous times in the past. But let me also say, that if you are new to the Generations line, are just getting back into Transformer, or want to introduce your kids to what made Transformers so special when you were a kid, do NOT pass up this toy.

Is it a complicated design? No, not really, it is rated a 2 out of 5. Is it the best engineering or most modern transformer design out there? Again, no. But what it will do is make you feel like Thundercracker stepped out of the cartoon and onto your table. I am just how blown away by how awesome this little guy looks compared to the G1 cartoon (And yes I know the Masterpiece series would put this guy to shame but we are also in a whole other price league there.)

So parents, rejoice in 3 things, 1) this shouldn’t give you or your child fits to transform, 2)it is probably one of the more durable recent designs and 3)is an excellent way to introduce them to the awesome that was the first line of transformer, Generation 1.

As for collectors, you most likely already know all this.

    In summary, very highly recommended.

This toy does two of things we the fandom have always wanted Hasbro to do:

    1) Brought back the much-exalted Classics Seeker mold, the best deluxe figure of the past decade. Missed your chance the last 10 or so times? Now you have a chance again!

    2) Completed the list of domestically released original seekers. Previously, we only had American releases of Starscream and Skywarp. Thundercracker was exclusive to Japan’s Henkei! Henkei! line and BotCon. But now, we have Starscream, Skywarp AND Thundercracker.

So what more do you want? It’s classic, it’s amazing!

As a huge fan of the original, G1 Transformers, I definitely had to pick this one up since the original Thundercracker was one of my first figures as a kid. This one is far more advanced, with all of the pieces remaining attached when you transform him (except for the blasters, which come off of the wings and attach to the arms). Obviously, the transformation works differently than the original one did, which is far better. The figure has joints and can be posed, unlike the original. The newer line of Decepticon Seeker Jets is just great. It’s quite durable too. It is great for this big kid!
