As security director for the AUTOBOTS, RED ALERT tries to keep his eye on everyone and everything. All the time. He installs hidden cameras and security sensors everywhere, and keeps detailed records of the known movements of enemies and allies alike. Nothing escapes his attention, and – to him – everything is significant. His paranoia keeps him constantly on edge, but it’s paid off more than once by stopping DECEPTICON plots before they did any damage. Turn the tables on enemy forces when you throw this warrior into the fight! Your RED ALERT figure is dedicated to destroying any opponent and combining his “engine” with his pulse pistol accessory will help you two get the job done. If robot combat turns into a car chase, convert your hero into rescue vehicle mode and send him racing off to rule the “road”!

It’s G1 Red Alert! He is the best little paranoid robot ever (take THAT, Marvin).

When Universe Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were released, Red Alert was an OBVIOUS redeco–so much so that Henkei, the Japanese version of the line, went ahead and did just that. It took Hasbro a couple of years to catch up, but seriously, he’s GREAT. The mold is as fun as ever, and his red/white color scheme works perfectly. Honestly, my only quibble is that the head is black and not red, but really, that’s just nitpicking. Seriously, he’s great. And he has the best disguise EVER. Because who’s going to suspect a fire rescue Lamborghini? Those things are everywhere, right? Right?

I purchased this toy as a gift for my little 5 year old nephew who I hope doesn’t become to overwhelmed by it, but I feel it could be a good learning tool for kids. Its never a bad thing to give a kid something he has to think on and use his brain to figure out. The one cool thing about this toy is that when I first bought it I didn’t put two and two together on the name. When I was my nephews age I recieved my first Transformer original (which I wish I still had) which was a fire engine named Red Alert if I am correct. So it was kind of a neat moment to take a step back to my childhood and know that I bought this toy for my nephew not knowing it had a small connection to my childhood. Begrudgingly I did give it up as a gift, but it did almost become a keepsake of my own but I will let the new generation enjoy the Transformer toys, all be it I did enjoy the trip down memory lane.

Got this for my son and nephew. It is OK, will break easily and good luck transforming it into a car. Can you say Rubik’s Cube? Save the instructions or good luck…
