There comes a wonderful time of the year I look forward to every february. Yup you guessed it, tax refund time. This year I decided to take a gamble on the Fall of Cybertron Bruticus set. So first we’ll review Blast-off. Read on to see how this particular Decepticon measures up.

Vehicle mode: Blast-off transforms into a Cybertronian Space Shuttle. I really like the design. I think it fits in very well with the Cybertronian tech and feel of the Fall of Cybertron game. There are no wheels or landing gear. The colors are not what you see in game as Blast off is a golden color in game. You can get a more screen accurate version either by buying the Bruticus gift set which can be purchased through Hasbro toy shop or buy purchasing the Takara version due out sometime this year. With the individual release, Blast-off sports a purple, yellow, and silver color scheme. I honestly don’t think this looks bad at all. Granted the colors are rather bright though. Blast-off holds together pretty well although Ive had some trouble getting the left leg/wing to hold in place. The weapons included with Blast-off does help fix this issue to an extent as they are kinda integrated into vehicle mode. Similar to FoC Shockwaves weapon. One thing that really Impresses me with Blast-off’s vehicle mode is the amount of detail that went to his engines. I think they look wicked cool.

Transformation is simpler than I was expecting. This one is most definitely appropriate for the age range suggested on the card. I was under the assumption the Combaticons would be rather complex since 1: they are deluxe class and 2: they’re combiners. These are the first ever deluxe class combiners released in the history of Transformers toys. I will tell you, It’s not any harder than the recently released FoC Shockwave to transform. And thats speaking for all modes. Vehicle to Robot or Vehicle to Arm mode. By the way a bit of advice, when transforming to Arm mode start from vehicle mode. It’s way easier that way.

Robot mode is pretty darn cool. Very pose-able,easy to stand and super fun to play around with. I love the entire sculpt. I think Hasbro did a fine job with the head sculpt in particular. There is one thing I would like to point out. This is important. Inside the shoulder armor it looks as if it were designed to fold down. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FOLD IT DOWN it will break. Upon closer examination Hasbro has extended the connector quite a bit to prevent it from moving. I’m not sure what function this would have served. But maybe Hasbro will tell us later on. For the time being quoting Jerry Lewis in Walk the Line “don’t touch it”

Over all I really like this figure. I think it’s a very nice peice to have in your collection but keep in mind, you have to buy the other four Combaticons to utilize all Blast-off’s nifty features.

Blast-off is one kick-ass decepticon!I do own all 5 of the transformers in the Bruticus set and can 100% say they are all very well constructed transformers overall.Blast-off is one arm of Bruticus and is very lethal as an individual warrior.Blast-off has awesome articulation and detail throughout while in robot or cybertronian rocket plane mode.He also has a very solid transformation with all parts fitting together securely during the process in both modes as well. This bad boy comes with double assault blasters which attach securely in each hand while in robot mode and on the wings of the rocket plane in vehicle mode. The poseablity is outstanding with great stability for creating cool battle scenes or displaying as you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure ball joint construction and a solid build in robot or cybertronian rocket plane mode. The transformation level is intermediate meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child 5-6 you might have to help some in the transformation process. To start off the piece on the middle of the back will rotate down as the arms rotate up and under the shoulder armor pieces. The shoulder armor pieces then rotate forward as the chest piece rotates up and over the head piece. The piece you had rotated down on the back now rotates back forward as the arms with shoulder armor pieces rotate up then out to rest outwards to the sides like wings. The legs rotate in as the shoulder armor pieces rotate in and connect securely together to form the body section of the rocket plane. The legs now rotate around and in to connect underneath the body section. The assault blasters attach to each wing and Blast-off is ready for flight. To transform Blast-off into the arm piece for Bruticus is pretty simple with just a few minor differences in the rocket plane mode.First the leg pieces will stay extended out and the fist piece will rotate out from each leg.The fist piece is in two halves so the leg pieces will rotate around so the complete fist is formed and securely connected. The arm connective piece will be rotated out as well from under the cockpit section.Blast-off is a great transformer by himself or as part of Bruticus.Bottom line Generations Blast-off is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10,transformer all fans and collectors will enjoy.I highly recommend Generations Blast-off to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Blast-off Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

I got blast off along with the other 4 combaticons to form bruticus. Blast off is probably my favorite out of the 5, mostly because of its nice articulation and details. He comes with 2 guns instead of 1 unlike brawl, swindle and onslaught who has 1. The only bad things about this toy are the shoulders. The arms are hard to connect to them. I don’t want to force it because it might break. Unfortunately like about 90% of the transformers are not perfect. They all have flaws. Hasbro is becoming more cheap with the transformers and increasing their prices
