Playskool Heroes Transformers Rescue Bots Optimus Primal Figure

  • Kid-sized Optimus Primal figure is the perfect size for little Transformers fans
  • 2-in-1 figure converts from robot to dino mode and back

  • Lights, sounds, and phrases

Give your little hero a robot that will stomp, chomp, and roar to the rescue! This electronic Optimus Primal makes lights and robot sounds and says phrases in robot mode. But when the battle calls for some dino power, he converts automatically to T-Rex mode! First off, we did not receive the figure pictured here. We received Optimus prime that converted into the Mac truck. We own several rescue bots figures, rescue bots have been huge at our house lately. This Optimus prime figure is the worst hands down. It is smaller than the other versions we have, by maybe 2-3 inches. And it doesn’t smoothly convert from Optimus to truck. The kids played with it for five minutes and it was promptly forgotten. It can not hold a candle to the previous versions of the rescue bots that we have. Again, we did not receive the dinobot rescue bot pictured, so beware. And what we did receive was not good quality compared to the other versions out there.

As a mom of three boys under 8, we play with Playskool toys a lot. Our favorites are obviously the transformers line. This was is light weight, sturdier than what you would get through the drive thru as toy, but not as sturdy as the more expensive larger transformers. It’s easy enough for a 5 or 6 year old to transform, but my 4 year old needs help still. Plays well and turns into what it’s suppose to. We haven’t managed to break it yet! I only gave a four because it is less sturdy than some of our other transformers.

Younger fans will like this toy, August 6, 2014

This Transformer will appeal mainly to the younger kids with its sounds and easy transformation. If your child is older than seven, I think you should look into some of the more complex Transformer toys. The transformation is not that awe inspiring, but it is easy enough for little hands to do it. This toy didn’t keep my kids hugely occupied, but they occasionally pick it up to play with it. Overall, this is a fairly solid toy for the Transformer fan.
