    A Big Hit!, October 22, 2013

I received this item free as a BzzAgent campaign. This thing is brilliant and my son loves it. When we first plugged it in, we questioned the graphics quality. Then you look at the kid and realize he hasn’t matured into a full-grown video quality snob yet and that totally doesn’t matter to him. Then you question whether or not you want him to be a couch potato yet. Nope again! He was so darn excited that he was jumping around the living room the whole time and nearly vibrating with enthusiasm. I was also concerned that although the ages are 3-7 and my son is 3.5 that he wouldn’t be able to grasp the concept of the directional pad. He did have to have it explained a few times but by the end of night one, he’s a pro. So I give up. He’s quelled all my doubts and adores this game. He is so proud of himself too! It’s programmed to where they always feel like a winner and I heard him telling himself “Great job! You’re the best!”

Spouses of gamers beware, you’ll have to remind your counterpart that your child doesn’t have to have a perfect game and is having a blast. Oh, and the trick to a no-tears end to game time: it’s time to let the Transformer back out. It provides a fun diversion and then you can make it final by telling the Transformer good night.

My 5 year old boy loves this game system. It was very easy to set up, and we can even take it with us in the car on a trip since it runs on 5 batteries and can connect to the DVD system in the car. The game is very appropriate for his age level, and is easy for him to navigate. I received the system through BzzAgent to try it, and was very happy that I did.

My boys LOVED the beam box…. when it worked!!!, November 19, 2013

We received the Transformers Rescue Bots Beam Box game to try and review (Thanks Bzz Agent!!) My two boys (ages 3 and 7) were super excited to give it a try. They had not heard of the game before we received our unit but they love Transformers so they were more than willing to give it a try. We hooked it up and loaded Optimus Prime in the box and pressed the big blue button…. and NOTHING! After a few attempts, we decided that maybe there was a problem with the Optimus Prime Figure so we purchased a Bumble Bee Rescue Bot to try. We got the same results… NOTHING! If I had purchased the Beam Box, I would have returned it as defective, but since it was provided at no cost, I did not have that option. I decided to check it out and try to find out what the problem was. Turns out there was a loose connection inside. Once I was able to better secure the connection, the character was beamed into the game and we were able to play! The game held the attention of my 7 year old, who is a HUGE Skylanders fan. He loved playing and played as long as we would let him. My 3 year old had a bit of trouble with the controls and getting things going but he was very content to let Dad help and also watch his brother. Before long, the game stopped responding to the characters… the connection was loose again. I disassembled the box and repaired again, which lasted for a few more days. My boys LOVE the game, but it seems to be a bit cheaply made.
    A few other observations:
The removable rear door is a very good idea, we have had characters stuck a few times and I do not know how we would have fixed it without the door.
The characters will only beam if loaded correctly and, initially, it’s not completely clear the proper way to load. I thought this was our problem initially but soon realized that the characters were being loaded correctly but the game was not responding.
The games are great, both my boys loved them and have a great time playing. I gave it three stars because I think it is a great idea and my boys really do enjoy it.
I am not sure the unit will withstand the wear and tear of preschoolers and even older. They way you have to press the button to “beam” the character seems to invite damage as it takes quite a bit of force to push the button.
I am glad that we received the unit at no cost from BzzAgent as I would have been very disappointed if I had paid retail for the game.
It would have been 5 stars had we not had the issues that we had to get the unit to work.

I got this for my 3 yr old nephew and he loved it very much. When you make it go, half way thru it stands up and turns into a transformer (Robot).

It’s made wonderfully for little hands not like the real transformer toys for older boys.

Gave it 4 stars because it works and it’s pretty neat.
But toddler only likes it some of the time and the lever is too hard for his strength (he’s 3)

These cars operate without batteries. Bought 2 different ones for our grandson and he loves them. This one did quit working soon after Christmas, but Amazon replaced it with no charge…how could you go wrong. Pull on a plunger and car races 10-15 feet and pops up and changes into the creature within.
